In fact, most computers older SSDs exempt will be able to hold many, many games. When your computer is full, you delete unneeded things and store away needed things elsewhere.
It's not like the graphics card or processor, which aren't as easily and casually changeable. It's a non-issue. Maybe you could pause the download or close down steam when it gets close to 10 gb?
